- Excellent option for little girls who don’t want to be a princess!
I love the Melissa & Doug costume line because it gives great role play options for little girls without being a princess or pink doctor scrubs, etc. The astronaut costume is well made, durable, and holds up to the rigorous dress up off and on routine of little kids. While used for every day imaginative play, it could easily be used as a Halloween costume as well.
- The quality is really nice and seems like it will hold up well
My son wants to be an astronaut when he grows up, so we bought him this costume to encourage his imaginative play. He just turned 5 and the costume fits perfectly with enough room to grow as well. The quality is really nice and seems like it will hold up well. He loved it so much that we created an astronaut adventure video on our youtube channel the Underwear Robot family, so check it out if you would like to see the costume in action =)
- but wasn’t really sure if it was something he would like. Well
Bought it as part of my grandson’s Christmas, but wasn’t really sure if it was something he would like. Well, let me just say that he had to put the suit on immediately after opening it and wore it all weekend long. Bruce is 4 years old, so the suit was big enough that he wore it over his pajamas on Christmas and he still has room to grow! Even his older brother, Max (5 years old) loved it and wanted to wear it, but Bruce flat refused to take it off. I was so happy I had gotten it. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that even though the outfit comes complete with a flexible helmet and gloves, it doesn’t come with space boots and it seems that they could have included boots made from the same material as the helmet or at least boot toppers. However, Bruce didn’t seem to mind not having them at all. He’s probably still wearing the suit!
- high-quality & super cute
This costume was perfect for my three year old’s halloween. As soon as it came, she wanted to put it on. I let her but was frightened she would tear it or stain it before Halloween. no problems. it is high-quality, not flimsy. I haven’t washed it yet but am optimistic given the thickness of fabric and quality of the seams. She wore it for Halloween with lots of compliments. And I’m biased of course but she did look adorable! She was entranced and really appreciated the shiny gloves and soft “helmet”. An older kid might want to purchase an additional hard-sided helmet, but the fabric one was great for us. (She’s three but almost a size 5T). The suit fit her very well, seemed comfortable and breathable. She wore it for hours at daycare and home and never complained. I would recommend this to anyone.
- Melissa and Doug products are great!
So many fun pieces. Doubles of shuttles and rockets so kids can play together without fighting over the cool things. Stickers are already attached. Parts that come apart reveal stickers to show what the inside looks like. Kids love this!
- Great costume set!
My 3 year old wanted to be an Astronaut for Halloween. This was perfect! Great quality for the price–I couldn’t believe it! It was a little big but thanks to the elastic in the arms and legs, we could easily just scrunch up the sleeves and pants to fit her. I did add another piece of velcro on the helmet to make it a bit smaller, but I anticipate she will be able to use this for many years to come! I love that it comes with a nametag to write her own name on it, and make it more personalized. The only thing missing is boots, but snow boots worked well
- Great quality costume
Great quality! I got this for my 5 year old niece who wants to be an astronaut. She put it on immediately – in the restaurant – and it fit perfectly! Great purchase at a great price point.
- My Grandson Loves It!
I bought this for my 3.5 year old grandson because he wants to be an ‘acronaut’ when he grows up. He loves it! Money well spent!
- Also works as a robot costume
Got this as a robot Halloween costume for my son. He wanted to be a robot, but we didn’t want to deal with the boxy robot costumes that looked like they’ll just get in the way, so we made up our own. We used this, replaced the astronaut "helmet" with a robot hat/mask thing, covered the space program logo with a printout of a circuit board, and threw in some LED lights, and it gave him sort of a Daft Punk robot look rather than the classic 1950s robot.
My son generally wears size 6-7 clothes, and this fit him precisely with really no room to spare.
- Good quality material
Gave to my 3 1/2 yr old grandson for Christmas gift. He was impressed with it—all shiny and bright, as was his 5 yr old brother (who had to try it on but it was too short). Good quality material. He and his sister love to play dress up so this was perfect. Gave him two kids books on space, too.
